Driving Directions to Quinta da Abelenda
Quinta da Abelenda is easy to reach from Coimbra (45 minutes by car, bus or train) and Viseu (40 minutes by car). You can park your car near the cottage.From Lisbon / Porto / Coimbra:
Take the A1 in direction Porto / Lisbon. Either from Lisbon or Porto, take the exit Viseu / Figueira da Foz (IP3), near Coimbra. Follow the IP 3 in the direction of Viseu and just before Santa Comba Dão take the exit Vimieiro. (Caution: This exit is very bad signalized, after a corner, just 300 meters before the exit Santa Comba Dão.) Follow the signs "Agro-Turismo", passing the village Vale Vilão. When you are on the blue painted road, look for the sign "Quinta da Abelenda" (just after the signal Km 47) where you turn right.From salamanca (Spain) / Viseu / Santa Comba Dão:
Enter Portugal in Vilar Formosa. Take the A25 in the direction of Aveiro. Near Viseu turn to the IP3 in direction of Coimbra. About 1 km after Santa Comba Dão turn to Vimieiro. (Caution: This exit is very bad signalized, but is just after the bridge over the river Dão). Follow the signs "Agro-Turismo", passing the village Vale Vilão. When you are on the blue painted road, look for the sign "Quinta da Abelenda" (just after the signal Km 47) where you turn right.From Guarda / Mangualde / Nelas:
Take the IC12 in the direction of Santa Comba Dão / Coimbra. At the end of the IC12 turn right to the IP3 in direction of Viseu / Santa Comba Dão. Just before Santa Comba Dão take the exit Vimieiro. (Caution: This exit is very bad signalized, after a corner, just 300 meters before the exit Santa Comba Dão.) Follow the signs "Agro-Turismo", passing the village Vale Vilão. When you are on the blue painted road, look for the sign "Quinta da Abelenda" (just after the signal Km 47) where you turn right.From Tábua:
Take the N234-6 in direction of Santa Comba Dão. Continue on the IC12 in the direction of Santa Comba Dão / Coimbra. At the end of the IC12 turn right to the IP3 in direction of Viseu / Santa Comba Dão. Just before Santa Comba Dão take the exit Vimieiro. (Caution: This exit is very bad signalized, after a corner, just 300 meters before the exit Santa Comba Dão.) Follow the signs "Agro-Turismo", passing the village Vale Vilão. The last kilometer
you are driving on the Ecopista do Dão (a blue painted road). Cars are aloud on the Ecopista, but only to Quinta da Abelenda, so be careful for cyclists and pedestrians, they may not expect you. After our Quinta, the Ecopista is only open for cyclists and pedestrians.

By train to Quinta da Abelenda

have direct connections with the station of Santa Comba Dao (Intercity), located in Vimieiro.If you are coming from Porto
by train, you have to change trains in Pampilhosa or Coimbra.The Portuguese Railways
have a very good time table on-line (in English). Fill in the name of the departure station, the name of the arrival station (Santa Comba Dao) and the date you like to travel, to get all the connections of that day.
From the station to Quinta da Abelenda (1500m)
We can pick you up at the train station, but it's only a 25 minute walk to us, and a nice walk too.
At the station there is a sign pointing to the Ecopista. Just after the beginning there is a part of 200 meters on a dirt road to the blue-painted Ecopista do Dão. Continue (1200 meters) the Ecopista to Quinta da Abelenda, just after kilometer marker 47 (to the right).
